South Africa Freedom Day Celebrations in Warsaw
The reigning Miss Supranational, Lalela Mswane, recently attended the South African Freedom Day Celebrations, which also served as a celebration of Mandela month and more than three decades of diplomatic relations with Poland. Hosted by the South African Embassy in Poland, Mswane was personally invited by Her Excellency Ms. Nomvula Mngomezulu. The event was attended by several dignitaries and ambassadors from around the world who are based in Poland.
“The celebration of the life of Nelson Mandela recognizes and gives credence to the former President’s commitment to human rights, conflict resolution and reconciliation. Mandela dedicated his life to promoting a culture of peace throughout the world. He placed great emphasis on the values of conflict resolution and always highlighted the importance of a comprehensive approach to sustaining peace and preventing conflict, while addressing its root causes and strengthening the value of law. These are values South Africa fully ascribes too,” Her Excellency said as she addressed the dignitaries.
“I believe that our country is the destination to re-awaken, re-ignite and re-energise our bodies, our minds and our spirits. So much so, that it will leave you transformed and make you fee alive again. So I invite you to to travel to our country, you can live again,” Her Excellency said as the other diplomats toasted South Africa.
Miss Supranational was then invited to cut the cake with the ambassador. “Being part of this event, filled my spirit with pride and it was an incredible honor for me to share in these wonderful celebrations. I would like to congratulate Her Excellency, Ms. Nomvula Mngomezulu on a beautiful event and including me in such a special way,” Mswane commented.
