Anntonia in Indonesia: I was so happy to support Jesica’s project (Part 1)
Miss Supranational 2019, Anntonia Porsild, recently traveled to Indonesia to attend the Puteri Indonesia 2020 Final. In part 1, she tells us about the first two days:
Valeria told me so much about how wonderful her trip was to Indonesia last year, so I was beyond excited and I could not wait to get to Jakarta to experience the event. The day started on an exciting note as I got to meet my Thai sister queen, Bint (Miss International), for the first time. It was so nice to meet her and besides from being gorgeous, she is also just an incredible person. We were both proud to travel to Indonesia together to represent our country there.
We had a great flight – I was sitting next to Bint, so we had the opportunity to get to know each other much better, which was fantastic. When we arrived in Jakarta, the Puteri Indonesia Organization was waiting for us. My Supra sister, Jesica, was waiting for me and Miss International Indonesia 2019, Jolene, was waiting for Bint. They made us feel right at home. I also bumped into Frederika, who I have met before, and it was really nice to see her again.
The next morning, we had an early start as we traveled to Bogor in West Java where Jesica is from. We had the honor of visiting her special project at ADHA House where she has been working with children affected by HIV/Aids for three years. If I am honest, I knew it was going to be a very special day but I was totally overwhelmed by the beautiful work Jesica is doing. The kids were just so sweet and happy. We spent the most memorable time there singing songs, playing games and getting to know each other. I am so proud of Jesica – the work she is doing there is absolutely wonderful. All three of us (Jesica, Andre and myself) were overcome with emotion at one point during the morning. Not because we were sad but because we were so happy and proud to be there. Jesica, you are an inspirational woman and I am proud to have you as a Supra sister.
It was really hard to leave but we had to go back to meet Bint and Zozi (Miss Universe) at the Taman Sari Royal Spa, which has become a Puteri tradition. It was so nice to meet Zozi. She is also a phenomenal woman full of positive energy and kindness. I was very happy to be there with the other queens. The treatment was amazing – it was so relaxing that I fell asleep!
Unfortunately the Meet and Greet opportunity between Bint, me and the Indonesian Pageant Lovers had to be cancelled that evening because of the Corona virus. Andre and I decided to use this opportunity to try Indonesian dishes at the hotel. Let me just say this: I LOVE Indonesian food! Hopefully one day I can enjoy a holiday in Indonesia and try even more of the local food!!!
